Unique to RCI students only is our 3-In-1 course bundle option. Graduates will be prepared for both front and back office medical assisting duties and ready for employment upon graduation. The RCI Medical Clinical Assisting Program is 900 hours which does not include GE courses. Upon successful completion of the 875 hours / 40 weeks of didactic/theory, practical/lab classes, and 225 hours / 10 weeks of GE, students will complete 160 hours / 4 weeks in a clinical externship where they would apply the knowledge learned in the classroom setup. The RCI Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Clinical Assisting Program is a 1260-hour / 54-week comprehensive program.

Medical assisting is one of the fastest growing careers in healthcare. Certified medical assistants may work in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may even be asked to perform many specialized tasks. They are responsible for performing physician support services that help ensure medical facilities run smoothly. Medical Assistants work in physicians’ offices, clinics, hospitals, or other healthcare facilities.
This course also prepares you for the Certified Medical Assistant national exam as well. The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on skills labs, and externship at a medical facility. Emphasis is placed on courses which enable the student to gain theoretical and practical knowledge as well as skills important for working in the medical field. The course is designed for students seeking employment immediately upon graduation. This is an accredited diploma course with the option to earn your Associate’s degree (see below). You will graduate with a certificate in MCA in a short 9 months (or 900 hours) and be qualified to work as a Medical Assistant. In this program you will learn all the core Medical Assisting skills in preparation to work as a Medical Assistant in the medical field.
